The KSCS project area is located within Banten Province, covering Lebak Regency, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang City, as well as Parung Panjang District in Bogor Regency, West Java Province. The project is intended to develop a comprehensive raw-water conveyance system from Karian Dam to the Serpong Water Treatment Plant and four additional branch WTPs.
The main conveyance pipeline spans approximately 60 km, planned with diameters of 2000 mm and 1800 mm. This infrastructure is designed to support the water allocation from Karian Dam through a phased development approach, ensuring sustainability and adaptability to regional water demands.
The Karian-Dam Serpong Water Conveyance System (KSCS) is a strategic national infrastructure project designed to channel raw water from the Karian Dam to the Serpong Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and several branch WTPs. The system is essential to improving water availability and ensuring long-term water security for the rapidly growing regions of Banten and Greater Jakarta.
The KSCS is implemented through a multi-package construction strategy to optimize scheduling, budget allocation, and field coordination. Each package covers specific pipeline segments, appurtenances, and structural works. The phased approach ensures flexibility in execution while maintaining alignment with national water-supply targets.
The Karian–Dam Serpong Water Conveyance System (KSCS) receives strong support and positive feedback from various institutions involved in its planning and implementation. The following testimonials reflect the importance of KSCS in strengthening regional water security and improving service reliability.
“KSCS is a vital component of Indonesia’s national water infrastructure program. Its successful implementation will significantly enhance raw-water transmission capacity and support sustainable development in the region.”
“The KSCS pipeline system will greatly improve the reliability of clean water supply for Tangerang and South Tangerang, ensuring stable service for our consumers in the years to come.”
“The collaboration across government, consultants, and contractors in the KSCS project is exemplary. This teamwork is crucial to achieving high-quality construction and meeting project timelines.”
Rapid development across Banten and Greater Jakarta has placed significant pressure on existing water infrastructure. The KSCS project is designed to address these challenges by providing a reliable raw-water transmission system that meets current and future demand. It also supports government initiatives aimed at improving water security, reducing dependency on groundwater, and promoting sustainable urban development.
KSCS is part of Indonesia’s long-term water-resource management strategy under the Directorate General of Water Resources (DGWR) of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The project aligns with national directives focusing on raw-water supply, infrastructure resilience, and integrated basin management across the Cidanau–Ciujung–Cidurian (C3) river basin region.
Implementation of KSCS involves coordinated efforts among engineering consultants, construction contractors, supervisory teams, and government agencies. The project incorporates modern engineering practices, advanced pipeline materials, automated control systems, and SCADA monitoring to ensure efficient operations and long-term asset reliability.
Once fully operational, KSCS will significantly strengthen water distribution capacity for millions of residents. It supports domestic, commercial, and industrial water needs, contributes to the reduction of groundwater extraction, and enhances the overall resilience of regional water infrastructure—ensuring that water continues to flow sustainably from Karian Dam to the communities that depend on it.
The Karian–Serpong Water Conveyance System (KSCS) continues to progress through coordinated planning, engineering, and construction efforts across multiple regions. For inquiries, collaboration opportunities, or additional project information, our team is ready to assist you.
Together, we support the development of sustainable and resilient water infrastructure for Banten and Greater Jakarta.
